A Brief Biography of Shaykh Abo Mahmood 'Emaadudeen Al-Faraaj‏

Shaykh Aboo Mahmood 'Emaadudeen Aal-Faraaj (hafidhahullaah) was born in the year 1386AH in the province of Soohaaj in Upper Egypt. He memorised the Qur'aan and read upon many of the Mashaykh of Azhar of his time. Then by the will of Allaah the shaykh came to know of the correct and upright 'aqeedah of the Salaf of this ummah, so he abandoned those that opposed the manhaj-as-salaf (methodology of the salaf).
And then he travelled to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Allaah eased him to study with the Kibaarul 'Ulama (senior scholars) walillaahil hamd.

From his Mashaykh, the teachers that he benefited from are:
1-Shaykh Al-Allaamah 'Abdul 'Azeez Al-Aqeel (hafidhahullaah), to whom he read upon and who gave him ijazaah (permission) to narrate from,
2-Shaykh Al-Allaamah 'Abdullah Ghudayyan (hafidhahullaah),
3-Shaykh Al-Allaamah Rabee' bin Hadee al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah),
4-Shaykh Al-Allaamah Saleh Al-Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah),
5-Shaykh Al-Allaamah 'Abdul 'Azeez Aal-Shaykh (Muftee of the Kingdom Saudi Arabia) (hafidhahullaah),
6-Shaykh Al-Allaamah Saleh As-Suhaymi (hafidhahullaah),
7-Shaykh Al-Allaamah 'Abdul Muhsin Al-'Obaykaan (hafidhahullaah), and other than them from the Ahlul 'Ilm (people of knowledge).

The Shaykh authored a number of beneficial books and treatises, which include:
1- An-Nasaaih As-Salafiyyah li Madrasat al-Iskandariyyah (Admonition of Salafiyyah to the school of Iskandariiyah),
2- At-Ta'leeq 'Ala Risala 'Eedaah wal-Bayaan 'an haal Muhammad Hassaan li Shaykh 'Ubayd Al-Jaabiree (hadaahumullaah) (Comments on the treatise 'Clarification of the condition of Muhammad Hassaan' by Shaykh Ubayd al-Jaabiree (hadahumullaah),
3- Kitaab Al-ilmaam bi Ahkaam al-Mash fil Islaam,
4-I'laam Taalibul Haqq bi 'adam naskh hadeeth talaq,
5-Comments and introduction to the treatise 'Isqaat ar-Ramooz' by Shaykh Mahmood bin Mahfood,
6-Qawaaid Fi Manhaj as-Salaf (Principles of the methodology of the Salaf), which was read to Shaykh Rabee' bin Hadee and the shaykh approved it,
7-Maa yafsada Sawm wama laa yafsaduhu (What invalidates Fasting and what does no invalidate it),
8-Radd 'ala daktoor Mustafa Mahmood fee Inkaarhu as-Shafa'ah (Refutation of Doctor Mustafa Mahmood for his denying the intersession),
9-Limadha Natakallam 'An Akhtaaul 'Ulama fee heena annana laa natakallam 'an akhtaa 'anil Hukkam (Why we talk of the errors of the scholars and why we do not talk of the errors of the rulers).

The Shaykh has explained a number of Matoon (texts) in his duroos, which include:

3-Explanation of the Sifat Salah an-Nabi Sallalaahu 'alaihi wasallam of Shaykh Al-Allaamah Ibn Baaz (rahimahullaah),
4-Explanation of Sharh as-Sunnah of Imaam Barbaharee (rahimahullaah),
5-Explanation of Usool As-Sunnah of Imaam Ahmad (rahimahullaah),
6-Explanation of Usool As-Sunnah of Imaam Al-Humaydee (rahimahullaah),
7-Explanation of Muqaddimah fee Usool At-Tafseer of Shaykhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah),
8-Explanation of Bid'h wa Nahee 'anhaa of Imaam Ibn Waadih (rahimahullaah),
9-Explanation of volume one from the Kitaab as-Sunnah of Imaam al-Khallaal (rahimahullaah),
10- Explanation of Bulooghul Maraam by Hafidh Ibn Hajar (rahimahullaah).
